Tough break for Justin Bieber and One Direction, who were distinguished as some of the ‘Worst’ artists around at the 2012 NME Awards.

The awards ceremony is held annually by the British publication, and this year, Bieber took home the Villain of the Year award in addition to the Worst Album award for his Christmas LP ‘Under the Mistletoe,’ while One Direction were named the Worst Band.

Although the Biebs and the guys from One Direction took home the lot of the ‘Worst’ awards, we have a hunch these performers probably don’t give a hoot what NME thinks. Bieber continues to dominate with his good looks, marketable image and energetic live shows, while also prepping his 2012 album ‘Believe,’ which is sure to be a hit if his Beliebers have anything to do with it.

Meanwhile, the guys from One Direction are also doing just fine, making girls all over the world swoon with their harmonies on songs like ‘What Makes You Beautiful,’ which they actually just won a 2012 BRIT award for Best British Single.

Even though Bieber and One Direction were the brunt of the jokes at the 2012 NME Awards, there were plenty of other artists who received accolades from NME. Florence + the Machine cleaned up, winning for Best Track (‘Shake It Out’) and Best Solo Artist. Additionally, Hayley Williams of Paramore won Hottest Female, Jared Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars won Hottest Male, and Lady Gaga won for Best Band Blog or Twitter.
