Anne Hathaway, who is pretty much a favorite to win the Oscar for her role in 'Les Miserables,' was back in black at the 2013 SAG Awards.

The actress, who's morphed into a serious fashion plate in recent months with her polarizing "love it or hate it" choices landing her on best and worst-dressed lists with equal frequency, wore a confusing but pretty Giambattista Valli Haute Couture black dress.

The top was kind meh, thanks to the sheer overlay, but the jewel-encrusted bodice was darling, while the full, flared skirt screamed "1950s fashionista." But if you'll notice, there's a bit of a slit, showing an underlayer that's sort of weird.

There's a lot going on with A. Hath's dress, and her hair is in that unfortunate in-between stage of growth. But then again, she hacked off her locks for the role that's about to win her an Academy Award -- so it was all worth it.

Hathaway has once again confounded us on the red carpet, but one thing is consistent: She sure gets us talking.
