These days, if anyone breaks any kind of musical record, you can assume it’s Adele or Rihanna. This time, the former took a crown from the King of Pop. The ‘Someone Like You’ singer bested the iconic Michael Jackson and his LP ’Thriller’ in the top 10 best-selling albums ever in her native U.K.

In the U.K. alone, Adele’s ’21′ has sold 4,274,300 copies — that’s 500 more than MJ’s iconic classic. This puts ’21′ in the No. 5 spot, pushing ‘Thriller’ to No. 6.

Despite ’21′ debuting 15 months ago, the album is still moving an average of 20,000 units every week, earning a whopping 65 nonconsecutive weeks on the charts. It already outsold Amy Winehouse‘s ‘Back to Black’ as the best-selling album in the U.K. in the 21st century.

In addition to her chart successes — and Billboard Music Awards noms to show for them — Adele’s also cleaned up basically every single awards show she’s attended, from the Grammys to the BRITs. Plus, MJ’s title isn’t the only one Adele has snagged recently. She also stole the top gay icon spot from Lady Gaga! Seriously, is there anything this woman can’t do?
