Adele earned an Oscar nomination for her song "Skyfall", which she co-wrote and performed. The song was the theme song for the latest James Bond installment by the same name.

Adele's competition in this category is: “Before My Time,” from Chasing Ice; “Everybody Needs a Best Friend,” from Ted; “Pi’s Lullaby,” from Life of Pi; and “Suddenly,” from Les Miserables. She is favored to win this Oscar! We'll find out though on February 24th.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Adele picked up her first Golden Globe Award for "Skyfall" for best original song for a movie. Since her appearance at the Golden Globes it was speculated that she would be staying here in the U.S. during award season and many thought she would perform on during the Oscar Awards.

Up next for Adele though are the Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 10th. Here again insiders are saying she will perform on music's biggest night, but no official word has been made just yet.
