If you've ever been on a plane, you know the flight attendants are required by law to demonstrate the safety features of the plane before takeoff. Frankly, most of us tune them or the video out because we've heard it before and its pretty boring (although very useful in the case of an emergency).

Air New Zealand has put a twist on the pre-flight video by creating a new safety that coincidentally coincides with the upcoming release of the final film in the franchise for The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies. The epic video is being shown aboard their fleet now and is set in Middle Earth and puts an interesting and captivating twist on the usual "fasten your seat belts" line delivered by flight attendants.

The video features The Hobbit director Peter Jackson and stars like Elijah Wood and Sylvester McCoy demonstrating the use of seat belts, oxygen masks, bracing positions, putting on life jackets and more. I feel that if more of these types of videos were produced that more people would pay attention during the demonstrations before taking flight!
