Alicia Keys Purchases Eddie Murphy’s Mansion
Keys has reportedly purchased Murphy’s mansion, known as “Bubble Hill,” in the New Jersey suburb of Englewood. The sprawling spread is approximately 25,000 square feet, with seven bedrooms, nine full and four half baths. So it’s quite the luxurious (and gated) estate, with no shortage in powder rooms. When you gotta go, you gotta go.
The mansion is located mere minutes away from Manhattan and the George Washington Bridge, so Keys and her family are nestled in a private community, but mere moments away from the pulse of the city.
Other amenities? There’s a pool, bowling alley, racquetball court, art deco movie theater and professional recording studio, so Keys can work from home while minding her son, 2.
There is also a five-car garage and a gym.
The ‘Girl on Fire’ singer tends to purchase from other celebs. She previously bought a penthouse in NYC from Lenny Kravitz.
Murphy bought the home in 1989 for a mere $1.5 million. He has been trying to unload the crib for a while, initially listing it at $30 million before dropping it to a $19 million asking price in 2007 and then lowering it to $15 million in 2010.
Keys will reportedly spend $12 million and take it off his hands, so while Murphy won’t make quite the profit he had hoped, since the real estate bubble (hill) has burst, he will pick up a nice chunk o’ change for it.
See photos of the lap of luxury in which Keys will live. It’s a swank pad.
