She may have died, but Amy Winehouse’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of family, friends and fans.

In the wake of her death, Britain’s Daily Mail reports that Winehouse’s father, Mitch Winehouse, announced at her funeral earlier this week that a charitable foundation will be created in her memory.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation will provide support for people dealing with substance abuse and will also include a rehabilitation center. Mitch Winehouse says that his daughter was on the road to recovery before her untimely death and believes that this is a way to give back to a community in need.

Winehouse, who lives in Britain, thinks that a foundation that focuses primarily on substance abuse is well overdue. He said, “In this country if you cannot afford a private rehabilitation clinic, there is a two-year waiting list for help…we are trying to change that.”

Winehouse also told those in attendance that Amy didn’t use drugs in the past three years and that she acknowledged the discipline it took for her to remain sober. The International Business Times reports that she had an intimate conversation with her father about her substance abuse, in which she said, “Dad, I’ve had enough. I can’t stand the look on your and the family’s faces anymore.”
