Madonna has reigned as the queen of pop for many years, but since she's been directing movies and hasn't put out a new album in the past few years the Rolling Stone has worked the numbers up and came up with her replacement!

The past few years have been dominated with the likes of Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and others but who should have the title of Queen of Pop in Madonna's absence?  The Rolling Stone broke it down like this, they

ranked 16 solo female artists, looking at album and digital song sales, Hot 100 rankings, radio airplay, YouTube views, social media, concert grosses, industry awards and critics' ratings. In alphabetical order, they are: Adele, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, P!nk, Rihanna, Robyn, Shakira, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.

Then they selected a time period and came up with the last 3 years and with winner being none other than Lady Gaga with a Queen of Pop ranking of 1205.  Following Lady Gaga in 2nd place is Taylor Swift and then Rihanna in 3rd.  Check out the entire list of 16 queens that were considered.
