Not even a year after the devastating 'Dark Knight Theater Massacre' in Aurora, Colo., another heartbreaking story is coming from this quiet town this morning.

According to reports, a gunman barricaded himself and four others in an Aurora town home early Saturday morning. Police received word and arrived at about 3 a.m., they proceeded to try and talk the man into surrendering for about five hours. At 8 a.m police moved closer to the house in order to release tear gas inside, but the shooter began firing at them before they had the chance.

About an hour later the gunman began firing at police again, prompting officers to fire back which resulted in the death of the gunman. When police finally got inside about six hours after first arriving, they found the gunman dead along with two men and a woman who he had killed. There are reports that another woman had been in the room but escaped without injury.

Police have yet to release the names of the gunman and the three victims and will continue to withhold them until the coroner can confirm the identities and notify the families. Reports have stated that it seems that the gunman and all of the victims were related, although they have found no motive to the shooting yet.

The shooting took place just a few miles from the Aurora movie theater where the Dark Knight Massacre took place. On July 15, James Holmes opened fire at the midnight premiere of 'The Dark Knight Rises' where 12 people were killed and 58 others were wounded.
