Ariana Grande learned a very valuable lesson on today's episode (September 14) of The Ellen Degeneres Show: If you're going to gloat about your prized "dick bicycle," you better know the make and model.

In a preview from the interview, Degeneres praised Grande for her live performance of "Side to Side," which included the racy lyric, at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. Grande said Nicki Minaj's verse inspired the set, which included a series of exercise bikes, but when Degeneres asked for "dick bicycle" clarity, Grande was stumped. What came next was sort of like perverse community theater in which the Bye Bye Birdie lead has forgotten her lines.

(Here is the full "Side to Side" lyric, for reference: "This the new style with the fresh type of flow / Wrist icicle, ride dick bicycle / Come true yo, get you this type of blow / If you wanna Minaj I got a tricycle.")

Ellen: "What does that mean?"

Ariana: "You know, uhh..."

E: "Uh-uh, I really don't. I mean, I think I'm down with it...is that like a banana seat?"

A: "I don't know, actually."

E: "You should know!"

A: "You know, I was on the bike, I sang, that happened, and, you know..."

E: "This is totally different than the Hillary interview."

It certainly was. Grande also very, very awkwardly confirmed her rumored relationship with Mac Miller, and tried hiding under her own jacket to shield herself from the discomfort.

"This is so crazy," she said. "I've never, like, had the relationship talk on a show before."

Watch Ari try to keep her cool in the hot seat above.
