‘Men in Black 3′ star Will Smith already spilled the beans that Lady Gaga would be making a cameo in the third installment of the extraterrestrial movie franchise, but now the word on the street is that Justin Bieber has been added to the list of ‘MIB 3′ celebrity cameos. The best part? Bieber and Gaga aren’t set to play just themselves, but aliens from another planet!
“Jessica doesn’t deserve to be in the bottom three if she sang ‘Yankee Doodle Dandee,” mentor Jimmy Iovine said of Jessica Sanchez on ‘American Idol‘ tonight. Sanchez was nearly booted from the competition last week — she got a second chance after she was saved by the judges — but she made a triumphant comeback with covers of Alicia Keys‘ ‘Fallin” and Otis Redding’s ‘Try a Little Tenderness.’
Hollie Cavanagh was challenged to sing a new and an old song on tonight’s episode of ‘American Idol.’ Each contestant was tasked with performing a hit from the 21st century in the first round of performances, and the Top 7 had to do live renditions of soul classics for their second (it was actually modeled after the late Dick Clark‘s program ‘American Bandstand’).
For her first song, our favorite British gal from the Lonestar State kicked off the show with Adele‘s ‘Rolling in the Deep,’ and Cavanagh sang Dusty Springfield’s bluesy ’60s hit ‘Son of a Preacher Man.’
We hate to see you go, Gavin! Gavin DeGraw managed to narrowly escape elimination on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ twice before, but on last night’s episode (April 17), the crooner was unable to get a save from the bottom two.
The 2012 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is currently underway, with the first weekend of the two-weekend event occurring on April 13-15. While there were stellar performances throughout the weekend, there were also lots of other stars — including pop starlets Rihanna, Katy Perry and Kesha — who attended the festival to take in the live music and amazing performances.
The lineup for Lollapalooza 2012 has been announced, and while the majority of the artists performing fall under the rock genre, there are a handful of pop and hip-hop stars slated to take the stage. Dev, J. Cole and Haley Reinhart are just a few of the names included on the bill for Lollapalooza 2012, which is being held at Grant Park in Chicago, Ill. on August 3-5.
More information on Justin Bieber‘s upcoming ‘Believe’ album and tour plans have surfaced. A few months back, Bieber tweeted that he was having studio sessions with Usher, but this didn’t seem too out of the ordinary considering he signed Bieber and acts as the ‘Boyfriend’ crooner’s mentor. However, Usher confirmed today (April 10) via Twitter that the two stars recorded a duet for ‘Believe’ in addition to laying down vocals on another duet for Usher’s forthcoming album.
Max George of the Wanted phoned in to ‘On Air With Ryan Seacrest’ this morning to talk about the boy band’s rise to fame, and during his radio chat, the ‘Glad You Came’ crooner revealed that he is no longer engaged to English soap opera actress Michelle Keegan.
Miley Cyrus is one hot chica! The singer supposedly spent $50K getting into shape for the People’s Choice Awards (according to a report from In Touch), and if this is in fact true, she is certainly doing a great job maintaining her amazing physique.
This morning (April 6), Nicki Minaj stopped by the ‘Today’ studio in New York City to chat with host Matt Lauer about her new album ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,’ Madonna, and more. The songstress/rapper, who was clad in a blond wig, studded metallic hot pants and a cleavage-bearing black bra top, also performed her hit ‘Starships’ and her latest single ‘Right by My Side,’ and also hung out with reality star Kim Kardashian behind the scenes.
It’s down to the Top 8 on ‘American Idol,’ and tonight, contestant Colton Dixon was tasked with singing a song from the ’80s.
Instead of picking something from the alternative rock genre, which definitely seems to be the genre Dixon is most comfortable with, the 20 year old went with Cyndi Lauper’s pop ballad ‘Time After Time.’ However, he couldn’t resist giving the classic a rock twist.
Tonight on ‘American Idol,’ soul man Joshua Ledet was challenged to sing a song from the ’80s, and even though the 19-year-old powerhouse wasn’t even alive in this era, he nailed Simply Red’s cover of ’If You Don’t Know Me by Now,’ which was a hit for the English band back in 1989.
Ledet admitted to being “spoiled” by his family back at home, but he seemed all man and not a bit mama’s boy tonight during his incredibly performance.
