2012 NJCAA Div. 3 World Series Coming to Tyler
The 2012 NJCAA Division 3 Baseball World Series is coming to Tyler’s Mike Carter Field. The series will take place this Saturday through next Thursday (May 19-24) and will feature eight teams playing for the national championship, including our own Tyler Junior College Apaches.
Paint Recycling Event Coming Up Saturday in Tyler
If you’re anything like me, you’ve got several old cans of paint laying around the garage. You know, the stuff left over after you wife decides she doesn’t like the master bathroom anymore and wants a complete makeover done to it! The City of Tyler Solid Waste Department is here to help you legally get rid of that old paint. They have a paint recycling event coming up this Saturday, May 19th!

CNN is reporting on a man, Bill Wisth, from Wisconsin who went in to an all-you-can-eat restaurant for fish. After serving the 350 pound man a dozen pieces of fish, the restaurant said they were running out of fish and cut him off. They sent him home with eight more pieces of fish, but that wasn’t good enough for Wisth.
Josh Hamilton’s Four Home Run Bat Heads to Cooperstown
Last week Josh Hamilton became the 16th player ever to hit four home runs in a single game, securing himself a place in the history books — as if he hadn’t done enough already. Now, the bat he used that night in Baltimore is headed to Cooperstown to forever live in the Hall of Fame. It broke last night in the Rangers’ 13-6 win over the Angels, so now it can officially be retired to the Hall.

Pickups to be Targeted During ‘Click It or Ticket’ Campaign
There’s no doubt East Texans have a love affair with their pickups. In fact, one in four registered vehicles in the state of Texas are pickups. The sad news is, in a 2011 study conducted by the Texas Transportation Institute, only 80 percent of pickup truck drivers buckle up. This is compared to 90 percent of regular seat-belt users in all other types of vehicles.
