Born and raised in Dallas, I was bitten by the radio bug at a very young age. By the age of 10, I had my own make-shift radio station set up in my room. At the age of 16 I took to the airwaves at KEOM-FM in Dallas. At 18 I went to work for ABC/SMN in Dallas. After serving in the Air Force during Desert Storm, I stepped back into radio at WKDY-FM in Upstate New York. From there I returned home to Dallas where I joined the legendary on-air line up at Smooth Jazz 107.5 “The Oasis”. I moved to the East Texas air waves in 1997 and after taking an oath to never reveal the secret handshake, I joined the cast and crew at Townsquare Media as evening host on Mix 93.1 and Chief Innovation Officer for the company.

The Cause Of Brain Freeze and How To Avoid It

Q: What exactly causes brain freeze? And here’s a better question — how do I prevent it from happening in the first place?

A: Ahhh, the dreaded brain freeze. I’ve experienced too many of those myself, unfortunately. The bad thing about ice cream headaches is that they hurt — a lot. The good thing about ice cream headaches is that they are usually over in a matter of seconds, or at most a couple minutes.

Saxophonist Clarence Clemons dead at 69

The "Big Man," saxophonist Clarence Clemons, has died in Palm Beach, Florida, from complications of a stroke he suffered last Sunday.

The beloved 69-year-old musician was born in Norfolk, Virgina, in 1942 and met his most famous collaborator, Bruce Springsteen, at an Asbury Park, New Jersey bar during a lightning storm in 1971. He became a member of the group later known as the E Street Band the following year when the Boss began recording his debut album. For nearly four decades, Clemons provided the soulful blasts that helped define Springsteen's signature sound.

Highest Paid Musicians In The World

Two decades ago Jon Bon Jovi sat with the members of his eponymous band in a basement in New Jersey. Hoping to rekindle the group's desire to make music after two grueling years on the road, he'd hung vintage posters on the wall, illuminated only by candles and blacklights. But instead of feeling inspired, Bon Jovi found himself becoming cranky and short of breath.

We know Dave Grohl is the bestest dude in a band right now, and yet he insists on proving it again and again... and today, again. Consequence of Sound directed us to Foo Fighters' tour rider on the Smoking Gun. Part Seven is called "Foo Fighters Field Guide to Food Coloring Book and Activity Pages." It is a coloring book and set of mazes and word-finds that perfectly skewers the whole idea of a tour rider -- a list of provisions a performer requires on the road.
