‘Bernie’ Showing at Liberty Hall in Tyler Thursday

An East Texas story returns home on the big screen in Downtown Tyler. See 'Bernie' at 7 pm, tonight, July 13, at Liberty Hall.

The film tells the story of Bernie Tiede, a Carthage man convicted of murdering a wealthy widow whom he had befriended.

Reactions to the film in East Texas were and are still divided. Despite that, the film earned Jack Black a Golden Globe nomination, and has been well received by critics.

Longview native, and Oscar Winner, Matthew McConaughey is also in the film portraying attorney Danny Buck.
