Is there a rivalry (or a cat fight) brewing between the leading ladies of two titans of hip-hop? It would seem so. Rumors abound that Beyonce, wife of Jay-Z, and Kim Kardashian, ladyfriend of the Hova’s Watch the Throne counterpart Kanye West, are icy to one another and that they had an awkward encounter at the first-ever Made in America festival in Philly over the holiday weekend. Apparently, Queen B gave Kimmy K the cold shoulder and snubbed her. What gives?

While the Hova and ‘Ye are BFFs, the women in their life are anything but. A source at the festival told The New York Daily News that Bey didn’t even acknowledge Kim, which isn’t uncommon occurrence for the reality star and marketing maven. Word is that Kardashian can’t score an invite to the annual posher-than-posh Met Gala, despite being desperate to get in, since the powers-that-be (aka Vogue editress Anna Wintour) view her as a D-list reality star.

But as for her distance with Bey, the source at Made in America said, “They were on opposite sides of the stage. Beyonce didn’t even acknowledge [Kim] was there until the concert was almost over.” However, Kardashian didn’t go out of her way to chat with Bey, with the source saying Kim “didn’t make any efforts to go speak to Beyonce either.”

The two women — Bey is really the only diva in this conversation so we can’t use the term when talking about both — made small talk in the dressing room, so said the source. Kardashian reportedly looked “uncomfortable” despite praising Jay for his efforts with the show. “She clung onto Kanye the entire time and didn’t say much” when Yeezy chatted with the Carters, according to the insider.

Despite rumors of their estrangement, Bey and Kim were seen sitting next to one another at a recent Watch the Throne gig. Perhaps Bey and Kimmy will never be besties, but they can at least be coolly civil while Kardashian’s relationship with Yeezy rides its course.
