Unless you’ve been living on Mars for the last week, in a cave, with your eyes shut and your fingers in your ears, you may have heard something of Beyoncé’s visual album event, Lemonade. It’s … gotten a bit of coverage, here and there. Now, it may even get an Emmy, as HBO will submit the hour-long special for Emmy consideration, bringing Beyoncé one step closer to that EGOT.

Per Variety (the magazine, not the category), the 27-hour window to stream Lemonade on HBO will make the album eligible for Emmy consideration, even as the special now resides for purchase on iTunes, or streaming over Jay Z’s Tidal platform. Lemonade will be submitted into the Variety Special category.

Kahlil Joseph and Beyoncé are acknowledged as the official directors of the special, while HBO has begun the process or sorting out whether additional directors Melina Matsoukas, Todd Tourso, Dikayl Rimmasch, Jonas Akerlund and Mark Romanek can be considered as well. Beyoncé has already been twice-nominated at the Emmys, first for the 2013 Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show, and then again for the HBO On the Run Tour concert special with Jay Z.

We’ve not yet hit any kind of ceiling for Lemonade accolades, but might an Emmy join the ranks? Watch a sample below.
