I can't believe I've gone nearly an entire summer without Blue Bell ice cream.

That's sad and it's been hard, but I've survived and am overly excited about the news of its return to store shelves soon. Honestly, I've strayed and tried other brands but there's just no comparison to the flavor and texture of Blue Bell ice cream. There's not!

The good news is that Blue Bell ice cream has been cleared by the Alabama Department of Public Health to resume production of their products in their Sylacauga plant without any restrictions. The facility is producing product but now shipping it out as of yet.

Jenny Van Dorf, a spokeswoman for Blue Bell, told WFAA TV, "At this time, we do not have a date when our products will return to market."

Blue Bell voluntarily pulled all of their products from store shelves in April of 2015 because of listeria contamination in some of their production facilities and the bacteria had made its way into some of the company's products.

Although this is good news for Blue Bell lovers like myself, it seems to still be a way off before we can buy it though. The company began production with their Alabama facility because of its smaller size as compared to the others and the hometown Brenham plant.

The company has stated they'll notify the Texas State Department of Health a couple of weeks before any trial production from their other facilities.

Until then, we'll have to recall their jingle from memory and sing it to ourselves or watch and listen to it on YouTube!
