Zoey Smith, a 3-year-old  missing near Canton since early this afternoon, was found about 7:30 p.m., Van Zandt County Sheriff officials said.

Zoey had wandered a couple of miles away from home and was found at a neighbor's house on Farm-to-Market Road 2909 in Van Zandt County.

The sheriff's department had called off the search about 7 p.m. because they could not locate her in nearby woods, but she was eventually found.

Earlier today, Van Zandt County authorities were in search of a missing 3-year-old girl near Canton.

According to Van Zandt County Sheriff Pat Burnett, the child was last seen walking down County Road 4207 with a brown dog, reportedly wandering away from her home.

Officials say the girl, named Zoey Smith, is Caucasian with dark hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple shirt with "I didn't do it" on it, blue jeans, black shoes and a blue and pink jacket.

Burnett said Zoey has been missing since 1 p.m. Helicopters are currently flying over the area searching, and Burnett said he was about to send search dogs, as well.
