Britney Spears was on Good Morning America on ABC earlier this week announcing her new Las Vegas residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort and it appears as if Bruno Mars could be next to have his name in lights on the Vegas strip.

Having your own Las Vegas shows seems to be a bit of a new status symbol, especially following the very successful run that Celine Dion has experienced at Caesar's Palace along with Elton John's stay and the limited runs of Cee Lo Green and Boyz II Men.

According to Robin Leach from the Las Vegas Sun, Bruno Mars will definitely be receiving his own show in Las Vegas at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, which is expected to open on New Year's Eve. Leach reports Bruno plans to perform 15 to 20 shows during his "mini residency". The full announcement is expected to released this Saturday according to the story.

No timeline has been announced on when the shows might begin, but one thing is for sure, he will not be available for a show on February 2nd, because he's the halftime entertainment at this years' Super Bowl game!
