The latest season of 'American Idol' ended in an expected dramatic pause as host Ryan Seacrest waited for the anticipation to build before reading out the results. And the winner is... Caleb Johnson!

The two finalists, Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson took the stage all night leading up to the announcement, performing alongside big names such as Paramore and Kiss. Finally, with less than ten minutes left on the show, it was time for the big announcement. Caleb and Jena looked nervous and excited as they waited for the big reveal. And we have to hand it to Jena, she looked genuinely happy for Caleb to take the win, even if it left her as runner-up.

Caleb celebrated his win by performing his debut single 'As Long As You Love Me,' though it took him a little while to get started because emotions (understandably) got the best of him. The start was even more delayed when all of the season's contestants bombarded the stage to give the new winner lots of congratulatory hugs.

Eventually, Caleb's rock-star voice could be heard through the crowd of on-stage supporters and streamers raining down in the venue. The 'Idol' winner's first album is set for release on August 12, so if you were a Caleb voter, mark down the date and keep supporting your new idol!
