Meet the Cast of Season 2 of ‘The Glee Project’

‘The Glee Project‘ is back for a second season, and it looks like the new cast won’t disappoint. Fourteen hopefuls will appear on the Oxygen competition series, vying for a part on ‘Glee.’

Last year, Samuel Larsen and Damian McGinty both won roles on the hit FOX show after co-creator Ryan Murphy, casting director Robert Ulrich and choreographer / co-producer Zach Woodlee couldn’t decide between the two.

This year, vocal coach Nikki Anders will officially join the judges panel, while an inspiring new cast shows off their talents. Here’s a quick rundown of the contestants:

Dani is a 23-year-old Orlando, Fla. native, who made it to the Top 48 of ‘America’s Got Talent’ in 2011.

Nellie, 19, plays in a local swing band in Tacoma, Wash. in addition to playing piano and guitar, and writing her own original songs.

Aylin (19; Chicago, Ill.) started the first female a cappella group at Loyola Academy, and is now majoring in vocal jazz performance at Roosevelt University. Ali is a 24-year-old New York City native, who is paralyzed from the chest down and has been using a wheelchair since the age of 2.

Lily Mae (18, Cape Cod, Mass.) is a student at Westminster Choir College, while Shanna (21; Auburn, Ala.) is studying at Auburn University and actively involved in many sports. Twenty-two-year-old Detroit native Taryn had never performed in front of a casting panel before ‘The Glee Project’ and flew on her first plane for her show audition.

Tyler (21; Boca Raton, Fla.) is half black, half white, Jewish and transgender, and says he’s inspired most by Lady Gaga. Meanwhile, Michael (18; Chicago, Ill.) is the youngest contestant this season, and Maxfield (22; Nashville, Tenn.) is on the show in hopes of winning the respect of a girl he loved and lost.

Mario (24; Lanham, Md.) is a voice-over artist born with Morning Glory Syndrome, which rendered him completely blind at the age of nine. Nineteen-year-old Miami native Blake is passionate about acting, and Charlie (22; Chicago, Ill.) has struggled with severe ADHD and low-spectral autism. Still, he earned his BFA in acting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Rounding the guys team out is 24-year-old Abraham from San Diego, Calif., who postponed law school to pursue his singing and acting dreams. He is currently working as a legal aid and a bartender.
