Fabulous Fireworks Display!
To put you in the mood this weekend, we've found a pretty amazing fireworks display from New York City.
It's so big it fills up the sky and not all of it fits on camera. Impressive!

It's one of the best holidays on the calendar -- the 4th of July! It's one of my favorites because it celebrates our nations independence and freedom! We celebrate it by making it a family event by hosting barbecues in the backyard and shooting off fireworks at night. My favorit

When the remodeling is done, the fresh coat of paint is on the wall or that little "honey do" project is complete what do you do with the left over paint? Well, if you're me...it sits in the corner of the garage and collects dust because you can't just throw it away. Now the City of Tyler is hosting a Paint Recycling Day on Saturday (May 14th).
The third bald eagle egg hatched last night! The live streaming video had mezmorized many of us! We have been caught by the awesomeness of mother nature, I'm one of them! I remember a few years ago when this very thing happened right here in East Texas in Smith county on FM 2661 near Lake Palestine. We were then mezmorized by them, but we didn't have this kind of access to see the eagles in our neck of the woods.
As I was watching this while writing this last night I could hear the wolves off in the background - totally awesome!
Watch the live stream of the eagle family live from their cottonwood tree and see what they're up to at any time right after the jump!
How often have you been catching up on these eagles?
I can look out my kitchen window and see thousands of buds that are on the verge of bursting with color - pink, dark red and white. I'm talking about azaleas. Tyler and all of East Texas have tons of these blooming bushes that display beautiful little flowers each year
We've all been there and have been nervous as hell - but somehow we all get through it...the dreaded first date. On Monday, Mix 93-1 asked the following question on our Facebook page...
Mix 93-1 has a new intern and he's just now entering the dating scene (after being out of it for 2 years) and he was asking us where is the best place to go on a first date here in East Texas.
This time of year is beautiful in East Texas - the dogwood trees are blooming all over, especially in Palestine. The Dogwood Trail Festival happens every year during the last 2 weeks of March and the 1st weekend of April in the height of the dogwoods blooming.
The festival features many different activities - find out more after the jump.
City of Tyler Mayor Barbara Bass has a vision of planting 5,000 trees within the next five years. Today her vision takes off as volunteers will plant over 300 trees at five different Tyler locations. All trees will be 15-gallon and will range from 8 to 16
