May 11, 2012 The Komen Tyler Race For The Cure is tomorrow morning at Bergfeld Park in Tyler. More than 4,000 people have registered to enter the race to help find a cure for breast cancer and today is the last day to preregister by stopping by Brookshires on Rice Rd. in Tyler from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
May 9, 2012 Thousands of people from around East Texas will be descending upon Bergfeld Park Saturday morning for the annual Komen Tyler Race For The Cure. All of these people have one mission in common, to help find a cure for breast cancer. Plus, they all have a different reason for participating too, whether it's in the 5k run/walk, 50 yard kid's dash or the 1 mile fun run/walk, they're doing it for something. Memory of a loved one who was lost to breast cancer, a survivor, to better their own health - everyone has a reason.
May 9, 2012 Texans love a good festival, and especially one that might offer a little buzz! This might be a good idea for a girls' weekend away, or a day-long date. In 10 days, we’ll have the chance to see what the fuss is all about over East Texas wines, and do a little shopping and sampling, too.
There is a really cool event coming to Lake Palestine on Saturday, July 7. It’s called an “Adaptive Aquafest” and is for children and adults with disabilities to experience water skiing! If you are not the parent of, or personally know anyone with a disability, then you may have never thought about the fact that they can’t experience water sports like the rest of us.

I remember my classmate Shane sort of nonchalantly turning around at the end of history class and saying, "So ya wanna go to the prom with me?" I said sure, he said "K," and turned around again, picked up his books and left the room. We had a lovely time.
