When NPR radio reporter Jeff Cohen’s 5-year-old daughter Sadie gave her 3-year-old sister Eva a very unauthorized haircut, he obviously wasn’t too pleased. But it didn’t take long for him to realize that Eva’s new asymmetrical do (pictured left) was actually pretty funny and that the story of how the haircut came to be was downright adorable.
Despite the fact that they are solo pop divas with outrageous fashion senses and the uncanny ability to craft hooky songs, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga are rarely compared.
That should change now that Perry’s Vogue Italia photo spread for the July issue has landed, where she goes Gaga. The style, imaging and wardrobe are very Gaga-esque, with the mod hair and geometric outfits.
Ole! Pop diva Katy Perry has added yet another head-turning cover to her ever-expanding global portfolio of magazine speads and features. She is now appearing on the cover of the July/August edition of L’Uomo Vogue, dressed as a matador, complete with a fancy, ornate and embroidered jacket. If you mess with the bull, you’re going to get the horns. If you mess with Perry, you’re going to get that sexy stare.
Lady Gaga was scooped by magazine editors last week, when images and details about her debut scent Fame began to sprout up online before the Mother Monster was able to officially share pertinent info, such as the name, the notes and accords and the bottle. She worked to quick stanch the digital bleeding, tweeting images and more information. Now, the official press release and print ad have been revealed. We’re especially curious, since the liquid is black.

Katy Perry is a woman of extremes. While may have looked a little sloppy the other night when she got fall down drunk in London and exposed one of her butt cheeks, upon returning to the U.S., the ‘Wide Awake’ singer was completely covered up. She was, however, fashionable even as she dodged the paparazzi at LAX airport. Perry was draped under a Chanel beach towel wrapped around her head and covering her face. How chic. Even her “I’m hiding from photographers” wrap is the highest of high end.
When you wear a meat dress, complete with a meat beret-type hat. nothing, not even an insect, is a strange fabric. Word is Lady Gaga wants her Haus of Gaga fashion team to construct a hat made out of cockroaches. Why those nasty little buggers? Because a scientific study showed that the bugs reacted to her music in a controlled environment. We can’t make this up. #Srsly.
Lady Gaga‘s perfume has a name. Finally.
The scent is called ‘Fame,’ which is to be expected, since that’s the name of the album that put the Mother Monster on the map. Samples of the scent have been shipped to certain publications so they can include coverage of the perfume in their editorial. Those publications are working on September issues now, so the fragrance’s PR firm needed to get the product into editors’ hands… Or the scent wafting up their noses.
Avril Lavigne has always been willing to take risks both with her music and her style. Her latest haircut makes us think her new album may have some dubstep influences: She’s rocking a Skrillex ‘do!
