Kids all across East Texas look forward to Halloween each year mainly for the candy they haul in when trick or treating! Most parents don't mind going out trick or treating with their kids either because they know they get to go through their little one's haul and pick out what they like and give them what's left (or that's what happened in my house a couple of times growing up!)

This Saturday the Whitehouse Parks and Recreation department is hosting a trick or treating event at the city park beginning at 6 p.m. that features more than thirty area businesses and organizations handing out candy to trick or treaters that stop by the many booths that will be set up in the park. The trick or treating event will end around 8 p.m. but the family fun does not end there because the city will be showing the movie Hotel Transylvania 2 for free! It's Movie In The Park in Whitehouse! You'll definitely want to bring some blankets for this spooky cool fall event!

Then on Halloween night you can take the kids to the annual Truth and Treats Fall Festival at The REC in Whitehouse (formerly they YMCA building near fire station). This event is coordinated by the Whitehouse Ministerial Alliance and the Whitehouse Chamber Of Commerce to provide a safe and fun alternative to families to enjoy on Halloween night. The event will feature games and candy, bounce houses, hay rides and some ponies!
