The Washington Post is reporting that the man who admitted to shooting and killing Florida teenager Trayvon Martin will face charges.

A Florida special prosecutor said as soon as this afternoon that charges will be filed against George Zimmerman, but the exact charges he will face are unclear at this time.

Zimmerman’s attorney’s dropped him as their client on Tuesday, and today his former lawyers said they do not know he is. One said he is out of Florida.

“As of now we are withdrawing as counsel for Mr. Zimmerman,” Craig Sonner, one of his attorneys, said at a Tuesday news conference. “He’s gone on his own. I’m not sure what he’s doing or who he’s talking to, but at this point we’re withdrawing as counsel. If he wants us to come back as counsel, he will contact us.”

Under Florida law, Zimmerman cannot face murder charges without a grand jury indictment. Prosecutor Angela Corey said she would not be using a grand jury.

Zimmerman still could face charges of manslaughter and assault.
