An adorable new commercial ad for Cheerios has caused quite the stir -- so much so, that the cereal giant disabled the comment section of their YouTube page. The ad, stars an adorable bi-racial little girl and her white mother and African American father.

The commercial has already had over 1.7 million views, but with so mixed comments, and many of them extremely racist and negative from viewers, Cheerios finally decided to disable commenting all together.

VP of marketing for the popular cereal brand, Camille Gibson, stated:

“Consumers have responded positively to our new Cheerios ad. At Cheerios, we know there are many kinds of families and we celebrate them all.”

Wow! All of this uproar over a cereal commercial? We think the ad was adorable. After all, there are many families that look like this. Do you think that ads like this help contribute to already existing racism, or do you think that ads such as these can help eliminate the problem?

What do you think of the ad?
