Throughout the month of October, generous East Texans in Tyler and Smith County donated hundreds of gently used and new coats to area dry cleaners so that
they could be cleaned and given to a child in need of a coat this winter. With the temperatures we've been experiencing over the last couple of days, a coat is the farthest thing from our minds but the colder weather will be back though!

If you know of a kid or have a kid that needs a coat this winter you may receive a coat from Coats For Kids this coming weekend. Coats will be distributed by PATH on Saturday, November 23rd from 8a – 2p and Sunday, November 24th from 1p – 4p at 3000 N. Border (old Griffin elementary school gym).

To receive a coat for your child, you must produce ID of any kind for your child (photo, birth certificate, social security card, school id or report card). The parent or legal guardian of the child must present photo ID and proof of Smith County residency (water bill, official document mailed). All children in need of a coat must be present to receive a coat and to ensure a proper fit for them.

If you have any questions about receiving a coat, please call PATH at 903-617-2821.
