I think we all remember where we were and what we were doing in East Texas when Columbia exploded.  Forty tons of wreckage rained down on East Texas and Louisiana as Columbia literally disintegrated during its atmospheric re-entry in February 2003 -- killing all seven astronauts.

Almost unbelievable that this piece has been at the bottom of Lake Nacodoches since 2003 - reportedly due to the drought.

Apparently people had been watching this but thought it was a stump at first. It sure doesn't look like a stump now! What are your memories from the day that Columbia exploded? 903-509-1000 or 800-487-0931!!
