If you drive much in South in Tyler you've probably encountered the treacherous lack of left turn lane on Shiloh and Rice Road in Tyler. Good news, the continuous lane is coming soon.

According to a Press Release from the City of Tyler, during today's regularly scheduled meeting the Tyler City Council approved a construction contract with Reynolds and Kay, Ltd. to that will change the markings on portions of Rice Road and Shiloh Road between Old Jacksonville Highway and Rhones Quarter Road. This will create a continuous left turn lane, and help prevent collisions.

“This improvement is expected to decrease the number of collisions and improve the progression through the corridor,” said City Engineer Carter Delleney. “The addition of sweeping rights at strategic locations on Rice Road and Shiloh Road will improve traffic flow and the safety of the travelling public.”
