Coroner’s Office: Kidd Kraddick Died of Cardiac-Related Illness

Preliminary autopsy reports released today revealed that Kidd Kraddick's death was cardiac-related, according to NOLA.com.

His death is still being investigated, but Jefferson Parish investigator Tommy Evans said, "Heart disease was evident." A later report revealed Kraddick had an enlarged heart and three of his arteries for 40 to 80 percent blocked.

Kraddick lost consciousness while being transported to the hospital and died a short time later, Evans said. He collapsed on his tour bus before an ambulance arrived.

A toxicology report is still pending.

Kraddick was 53 when he died Saturday while attending a charity golf tournament for his organization Kidd's Kidds, which sends a large group of chronically and terminally ill children to Disney World. The event was at Timberlane Country Club in Gretna, La.

Kidd would have turned 54 years old on August 22. Organizers of the golf tournament told WWL TV they are planning an event in 2014 in Kidd's honor.
