It wasn't uncommon for Cory Moraw to drop by the Mix 93.1 Facebook page to talk to us about music. And it was almost always about Britney Spears.

Cory's dying wish was to meet his idol, Britney Spears. And his dream came true.

Less than a year later, Cory died at age 28 on Easter Sunday because of complications from the rare genetic disease DiGeorge Syndrome.

Cory's step-sister Erica started a GoFundMe campaign to send Cory and his family to Las Vegas last year so he could see Britney in person and meet her. But even after the goal was met, Britney caught wind of what was going on and flew him and his family out personally.

Then Cory got to meet his favorite singer, as you can see above. On Sunday, Britney Spears went to Twitter to share her thoughts and love for Cory and his family:

According to KLTV, Texas A&M football coach Kevin Sumlin sent flowers to Cory's family after he heard the news. In addition to being a big Aggies fan, Cory was also a big fan of the Kilgore Rangerettes. The Rangerettes and Hallsville Bobcat Belles will attend Cory's funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tatum United Methodist Church.

"He loved people. He loved everyone he met. He was just infectious," friend Teresa Reimer told KLTV. “I mean, to die on Easter when our Savior rose again. Not only did he arise, but he got to take Cory back with him."

Cory was a 2005 graduate of Tatum High School.

Britney Spears' song 'Stronger' will be played during a tribute for Cory at his service. He attended her Vegas concert on his late sister Kasey Jo's birthday, and now her song will be part of a good-bye to a truly dedicated fan.

All of us at Mix 93-1 extend our prayers, thoughts and best wishes to Cory's family and friends. It has been easy to see that his heart and love were truly infectious, just like his love for music and Britney Spears.

Rest in peace, Cory.
