This Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon, a special benefit walk for a beloved East Texas family will be held at Wildcat Stadium in Whitehouse. The event, "David's Day," will help the beloved East Texas family -- the Baskins. David Baskin is suffering from Lou Gehrig's Disease, of which he was diagnosed with  May of 2010. The strong and athletic Baskin began to experience strange muscle twitching. The twitching soon became worse. A specialist in Houston diagnosed the problem

Keri, David's wife, is a school teacher in Whitehouse and their two children, McKenzie who is in eighth grade, and Parker, who is in 10th grade. They are an amazing family led by their faith.

Don't miss out on helping one of our own East Texans. Come out and enjoy all the family activities. The kids will love the bounce house, inflatable slide, children's obstacle course, face painting, spirit tattoos and, of course, the walk in honor of the Baskins. The event hopes to show love and support for this family, and to help one of our own.

Food donations are now being accepted that will be sold at concession area to help raise money as well.

If you plan to attend the walk, registration is $15, which includes a t-shirt and of course, all the proceeds from sales and registrations will go to the Baskin family.

For more information call Jennifer Eckles at 903-780-4895. And be sure and check out David's Day on Facebook. Let's come out East Texas, and support one of our own.
