Short filmmakers, your opportunity has arrived. Entries are now being accepted for 2015 by the Downtown Tyler Film Festival at TylerFilmFest.com.

The film fest started in 2011 with 'Show Us Your Shorts,' and has grown exponentially in the past few years. The fifth annual event will be held Sept. 23-26 at Liberty Hall in Tyler.

Films are required to be less than 15 minutes in duration, and must have been completed after Jan. 1, 2014. Students are also invite to compete in their own category.

“Students are the perfect model of independent filmmaking: endless creativity, lots of experimentation, and no money,” said Film Festival Chairman Justin Reese. “We want to encourage them to hone their craft by providing an audience and a cash prize they can use to fund their next film."

Cash prizes will be awarded to Best of the Fest, Best East Texas Film, Best Student Film and Audience Favorite. Discounted entry fees are available for local filmmakers and early entries. Submit your short film today!
