School is quickly approaching and there are many kids right here in East Texas that will not have school supplies to start the new school year, but thanks to a generous donation to CASA for Kids of East Texas that won't be the case for some children in the states' foster care system.  Find out where this generous donation came from after the jump.

Members of the Young Hill Lodge 467 collected money so that East Texas children would have the supplies necessary to start off the school year.  Melvin Williams of the lodge presented a check to CASA for Kids of East Texas.  It's the generosity and thoughtfulness of groups like this that make East Texas a wonderful place to live.

CASA for Kids of East Texas is a non-profit organization of advocates for abused and neglected children at they travel through the state foster care system.  CASA serves children in Smith, Van Zandt and Wood counties.  CASA volunteers get to know the children individually and become aware of the child's situation and how its affected them.  The volunteers then report to the court as to what the child may need in the future as far as services.
