A Lufkin-area man wearing a towel around his face and using a rake as a weapon is jailed after he was arrested for robbing a convenience store.

Police say 43-year-old Calvin Rushing was caught on the store’s video surveillance getting into a car that was later located by Lufkin police. The towel and rake were found in his trunk.

The Lufkin Daily News reports the towel and rake were found in the trunk of Rushing’s car.

Records show Rushing was released on parole last September after he was sentenced in 1993 to 40 years for aggravated robbery. He also has a record for felony escape and burglary.

He’s now jailed in Angelina County under $100,000 bond.
