This is the time of the year when event calendars start filling up with festivals, activities, football games and more! The weather becomes more favorable, too, but at times there are too many exciting things to do in one weekend. This weekend's activities include an exciting day for kids, a fun run, an arts and crafts festival and a consignment sale.

Tyler's Bergfeld Park will be hosting the annual Boys and Girls Club of East Texas and Tyler Parks Recreation Department Day For Kids event Saturday morning (Sept. 19) beginning at 10 a.m. This event features games for kids, arts and crafts, entertainment, puppet shows, goodie bags and a ton of fun for kids in all age groups.

If you're looking for some handmade items, you'll want to check out the Gladewater Arts & Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday or from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Billed as one of the largest outdoor arts and crafts events in East Texas, this year's event will be held on the Broadway School grounds in Gladewater and will feature woodcrafts, metal works, candles, jewelry, home decor and more.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the St. Gregory Fun Run on the Bishop T.K. Gorman campus on Loop 323 in Tyler. This fun run features a 5K and one-mile run along with a kid's dash. Registration is required and can be completed through the website. The fun run begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

If something indoors is more your style and/or you love shopping (especially for little ones), look into the Children's Consignment Sale at Harvey Convention Center. This sale begins Thursday and runs through Saturday.

More events to look forward to this fall include the East Texas State Fair, the annual Texas Rose Festival and the Yamboree in Gilmer.
