Emergency Supply Tax Free Weekend is Coming

August 11 - 13 is Tax Free Weekend in Texas for clothes and certain school supplies. But with Spring upon us, severe weather is a big concern in East Texas. Are you prepared in the case of a long power outage? Could you save any of your frozen food?

If not, this weekend, April 22-24, you can pick up certain emergency supplies tax free. Items like batteries, generators, coolers and more are included.

There are some restrictions to keep in mind. For portable generators, they must be less than $3,000. Other items must be less than $75.
