I like playing video games. Whether it's on Playstation (not a fan of XBox at all) or playing some old school games on my Nintendo Wii (Sega Genesis, Neo-Geo) or good 'ol Nintendo Entertainment System. Which, by the way, Nintendo will be releasing a mini NES System preloaded with 30 original Nintendo games in November. You can bet I am ordering it and will try it in Mikey Likes It?.

But I digress.

I like playing games on my phone whether at home or on the go.

Pokemon Go! is THE mobile game right now, so that is excluded from the list. Here are three of my favorite mobile games other than Pokemon Go!.

All of these games are free to download and play, but do have in app purchases available. They are available on iTunes or Google Play stores.

    Miniclip 8 Ball Pool

I like to play pool, whether it's real or virtual. I'm not the best at the game, kinda like bowling, but it is still a joy to play. Miniclip has brought their browser game to your mobile device (phone or tablet). You can play against random opponents in a single game or tournament or add your friends and challenge them to a game.

    Simpsons Tapped Out

The Simpsons have been on the air close to 30 years now. There have been many products from clothing to video games (remember the 90's arcade game) to a movie (Spider Pig, Spider Pig, does whatever a Spider Kid can). This mobile game, Simpsons Tapped Out was introduced about five or six years ago and, yes, I have been playing it that long. The great thing is, the folks at EA Games have kept updating the game with new characters and events so it has never gotten boring.

The basic premise is to collect the characters (Homer, Bart, Mr. Burns) while building various buildings (Moe's Tavern, Kwik E Mart, Springfield Elementary) and send those characters on real time tasks. You can also add your friends and visit their respective Springfields they have built.

You add friends by searching them by the email used to sign up for the game. I have not received one bit of spam in the time I've been playing. Add me if you start playing, michael.gibson97@gmail.com.

    Transformers Earth Wars

I have never been a fan of the tower defense games. The ones I've tried you always end up hitting that "pay wall" and that is just ridiculous. Transformers Earth Wars seems a little different so far. Granted, I am a huge Transformers fan so I'll try anything out that has to do with them. So far, I'm liking this game which was introduced about 3 months ago. You earn the different characters and battle other players.

You can also create or join an alliance and battle in different modes that way.
