A fire at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Tyler broke out in the kitchen area shortly after the restaurant closed last night. Smoke was seen coming from the roof of the restaurant when firefighters arrived around 11 p.m., but no flames were visible.

Tyler Fire Investigators say the fire was confined to a kitchen hood vent system and spread to some insulation in the attic, causing minor damage. Inspectors will be checking today for any structural damage to the attic area.

The Health Department is also expected to be at the restaurant today and it’s unclear at this time if the establishment will open at normal operating hours. A spokesperson at Texas Roadhouse said they hope to open for at least a few hours this evening.

No injuries were reported in last night’s fire.
