The Fourth of July is just a little over two weeks away! The day will be filled with burgers, friends, family, snack food, time on the lake and fireworks! Kids of all ages love a great fireworks show and one of the biggest fireworks shows in East Texas will be happening at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens!

The half hour show begins approximately at 9p. Don't just go for the fireworks, you can make it a family event because the Fisheries Center will be open for regular paid visitors from 9a to 4p with free admission for the fireworks show after 4p. You and the family can fish the stocked casting pond without a license while waiting for the fireworks show and one of the best things is that bait and tackle are free! So fish the pond up until 8:30p and celebrate our nation's independence with your family at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens.
