New Galveston Ship Offers Option For Texans Looking To Gamble
Gambling is illegal within the state of Texas, but becomes legal just 9.1 miles off of the coast of Galveston in the Gulf of Mexico! But you'll need a ticket to board Jacks or Better casino cruise, a day cruise that is being offered by a new cruise line company departing from a port in Galveston. KVUE in Houston got a tour of the casino on the water which features slot machines ranging from the penny slot to five dollar slots along with gaming tables for roulette, blackjack, craps, three card poker and more. In addition they also offer sportsbook betting on just about every sporting event.
About the only suggestion before boarding the ship is taking some motion sickness medicine!
It was reported by KHOU that on Saturday April 16 the gambling cruise ship hit a hidden buoy in the water, causing minor cosmetic damages. No one was reported injured in the incident.
