The Friends of the Tyler Public Library, in conjunction with the Tyler Public Library, will be hosting a gingerbread house building contest.

The public is invited to attend a gingerbread house making tutorial hosted by Fresh by Brookshire’s Bakery in the Library’s auditorium on Friday, Nov. 18 from 4 to 5 p.m. Participants will then receive a gingerbread house kit to take home to start creating their masterpiece. Completed houses should be returned to the Library between Dec. 1 and 3 to be entered in the decorating contest.

Judging by members of the Tyler Public Library Board will take place on Dec. 6. Judges will be looking for the best in overall creativity and appearance. First and second place winners will be awarded a prize. The houses will remain on display in the Library through Dec. 18.

The Tyler Public Library is located at 201 S. College Ave. in Downtown Tyler. More information about this event can be found on the Library website at TylerLibrary.com or by calling 903-593-7323.
