On Tuesday, September 12, the TV-watching world will get to know one of Tyler, Texas' more high profile murder cases featuring the murder of Ty Underwood.

According to East Texas Matters, Underwood was a transgender woman killed in January of 2015. Her boyfriend, Carlton Champion, a college football player, was convicted of murder and was sentenced to a lifetime in prison by a Smith County jury.

According to The Advocate and KYTX, the murder was suspected of being brought on by jealousy as can be read through their messages on the Kik application.
