With Thanksgiving almost here, I got to thinking about how cool it would be to have my birthday on Thanksgiving. But is it really all that I think it would be?

I should probably start by saying that the only reason I even thought of such a thing is because my birthday is on Independence Day and I'm always curious to see if other people enjoy sharing their birthdays with big holidays. Personally, I love having my birthday on Independence Day for a multitude of reasons. I think it's fun to have everyone in America celebrate my birthday with me - obviously I enjoy celebrating America's freedom too, but doubling the party is always a good time. And the fireworks are one of my favorite parts - who wouldn't want fireworks on their birthday?? But back to Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday (aside from my birthday/Independence Day) but I just can't fathom having Thanksgiving ever land on my birthday. Although Thanksgiving is a joyous occasion to spend with family and friends that you are thankful for, I almost feel like the mood is a bit too serious to celebrate a birthday on.

It would be great to have such a delicious meal planned every year for your birthday, but how is one supposed to choose between pie and birthday cake? I suppose you could eat double desserts, but who would opt out of eating the actual meal on Thanksgiving?

And since Thanksgiving is not a set date each year, you wouldn't be accustomed to having your birthday on the same day as Thanksgiving. It would be an occasional thing based on the calendar each year. I just can't imagine celebrating Thanksgiving and my birthday at the same time...so I suppose that means that I don't think I would want my birthday to be at the end of November.

Let me know what you think in the comments below - would you like to have a holiday birthday? Which holiday would you prefer?
