Javier Bardem, who struck Oscar gold for playing the heavy in 2007′s ‘No Country For Old Man,’ has confirmed he has been cast as the villain in the next Bond film.

While the 42-year old Spaniard said he couldn’t reveal the details of the character, he did talk about the thrill of being made a part of the iconic Bond series.

“I am very excited because my parents took me to watch the [Bond] movies and I saw all of them,” Bardem explained. “So to play that is going to be fun.”

The rumored title of this 23rd Bond film is ‘Skyfall.’ Daniel Craig will reprise his role as 007 and the movie will be directed by Sam Mendes, of ‘American Beauty’ fame.

The movie is expected to come out in November of next year.
