Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles chose John Glosson to perform ‘Stay’ with her on tonight’s (May 24) premiere episode of ‘Duets.’

He made her cry during the dry audition in her hotel room; she was was accepting a 4H Award in her native Georgia and was stationed there and taking auditions. She admitted she chose Glosson, from Douglas, Ga., because she needed more than a voice and needed someone to engage the crowd and get into the song. She found that in Glosson, a big man with an even bigger voice.

When the twosome took the stage, they owned it, delivering the best duet of the night, and there were a lot of good ones that preceded them.

They didn’t overpower each other even when they went for the biggest of notes. They blended like two ingredients in a favorite recipe. The ending was absolutely flawless.

Glosson was angelic and it was a wonderful marriage of their two unique and big voices. We love that Nettles didn’t need to look much further than her own backyard to find a suitable voice to partner up with. Home is where the heart and the voice is, at least with this performance. John Glosson sounds like he will ‘Stay’ on this show.
