Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Miley Cyrus + More to Appear on Televised Teacher Appreciation Special
On April 23, CBS will mark an early celebration of National Teacher Appreciation Week with a special, titled 'The Real Change Project: Artists for Education.' They'll have some pretty big names involved, including Justin Bieber, Pitbull, and Miley Cyrus.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the one-hour program, set to air at 7 PM, was produced by Real Change Productions in association with Adopt a Classroom. It will blend performance footage and interviews with segments showing artists going back to their old schools, where they'll "introduce the teachers who inspired them and surprise deserving students and organizations."
According to THR's sources, Bieber, Pitbull, and Cyrus will be joined by an array of stars that includes Lady Antebellum, LMFAO's Redfoo and SkyBlu, Jason Mraz, Quincy Jones, and Matthew Morrison of 'Glee.'
"Teachers are often the unsung heroes, while actors, musicians and pro athletes get all the praise. I'm willing to bet, though, that each one of us has had at least one teacher who changed our lives forever," explained Real Change CEO Liam Murphy.
He continued, "The goal of our show is to not only honor these teachers but to also inspire Americans to adopt a classroom and support those who are shaping the minds of tomorrow by providing the supplies that enable them to keep making a difference today."
