Katy Perry was a goddess in green at the Carole King Music Celebration, which benefited Paul Newman's The Painted Turtle Camp, last night (Dec. 4) in Hollywood.

The singer, who has been leaving the candy-coated costumes behind while she walks red carpets lately, paired a strapless, jewel-tone green Yves Saint Laurent dress with gold Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

The dress was subtle, save for the thigh-high slit and the bedazzled bodice, which was ruched under her ample bust and gave the dress some textured life and luster.

The real showpiece, however, of Perry's outfit was her Amrapali necklace, which made a statement of its own. Perry wore her raven hair down, in thick waves; and while she wore it somewhat off the shoulder, she would have benefitted from an updo so we could see the full scope and visual effect of that silvery, wreath-like necklace.

Other than that, the 'Wide Awake' singer, who also performed at the event, was a vision in green.

The Painted Turtle is a great cause that offers children with serious medical conditions hope and encouragement through its Summer and Family Weekend camps. It has done so since 2004.
