Katy Perry Wins International Video of the Year by an Artist at 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards

Congrats Katy Perry! The purple-haired starlet took home the award for International Video of the Year by an Artist at the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards for ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).’

Native Canadian and ’90210′ actress Shenae Grimes presented Perry with her first award of the evening.

K.P. rocked a sparkly, lacy black gown and had her grape-soda ‘do in a cute high ponytail for the event. Perry was clearly excited, letting out a Hulk-style growl as she lifted her apparently heavy trophy into the air. “Hello Canada and all of you guys that are watching back home!” she said with a grin.

“Thank you so much for this award,” she continued with that beaming smile. “Thank you for letting me create Kathy Beth Terry, who is a complete geek — basically me,” she added. “And thank you MuchMusic! I can’t wait to perform later tonight. Stay tuned!”

The video is a fan favorite, an ode to the kinds of fun drunken evenings you don’t quite remember the next morning when you’re popping painkillers to quell the hangover. We think Katycats may pop a few bottles to celebrate her win.
